…Seven hundred years ago, when the disparities between the leaders of the Sundered Lands could no longer be tolerated, war ravaged the coasts of the rift sea.
Fragile, vulnerable, and plagued by heresies in the wake of their conflict with the Societas Arcana Magorum, the Bibliocarius of the Ordis Librum tasked the Order of Pulmarkon to root out any and all threats to the faith within the orders.
The Order of Pulmarkon’s Summus Propugnator, Kanai Paganus, drafted a summary of the nine great heresies that still threatened to divide the faithful from the true guidance of the triune godhead, Troein Eyenim, and the newly formed Eastern Sunderlan Confederacy.
With the Bibliocarius’ss blessings, the Order of Pulmarkon assembled five thousand soldiers and priests to hunt down the heretics and force them out from the hegemony of the Orders’s confederation.
For the first time in the history of the world, humankind and halfling found themselves in opposition.
In an alliance of power not seen on Tryterra since the Quaternarian Schism, the dwarves, sidhe, and halflings joined together in opposition to the Orders’s auto-de-fe.
To maintain the tenuous peace between the nations of humanity and their own, demihumanity vowed to take no direct part in the conflict, but offered safe harbor within their territories for any man, woman, or child persecuted by the Orders’s crusades.
The Bresian strongholds of the Kanatan Empire sent their longships across the gulf sea to the kingdoms and city-states of the dwarves and parkrysaliani, offering passage across the rift sea to any who wished to flee the Confederacy for the newly formed Western Sunderlan Empire.
The Bibliocarius forebade Kanai Paganus from retaliating against the independent nations of dwarf, sidhe, and halfling on Eastern Sunderlan soil. The sovereign state of the Kanatan Empire was another matter entirely.
The Summus Propugnator issued a new decree, making the bres of the Kanatan Empire the face of the nine heresies, named them devils propagating false faiths to build their own armies, and sent his brigade to the frozen north to carry out Troein Eynim’s holy works…
