FAQs

What is Lightkeeper Press?

Excellent question!

Lightkeeper Press is…will be…we’re still in the early stages here…Lightkeeper Press will be a publishing house for fantasy, horror, and sci-fi novels and TTRPG supplements based on its intellectual property.

Sounds cool. How does that work?

Short answer: The idea is to create my own properties, first and foremost. From there, if there is an open source license that is compatible with the ip (without causing any legal shenanigans for any party involved), we adapt all of our research, notes, maps (when applicable), home brewed content, etc. into a setting, sourcebook, or module.

Because there’s a lot of stuff that could go differently from the time we come up with the story idea to the time we finish writing it, right? Even characters in novels should not be pigeonholed by the plot. sometimes they want to do something different than you had planned for them and allowing that agency gives “life” to the character.

But that also means there’s an awful lot of things you came up with initially that doesn’t get explored. We’re hoping to be able to give other people the opportunity to explore the things our characters chose not to.

That’s a bit meta, but ok. next question: When does your first book come out?

The Chronicles of Tryterra: Founder’s Day, part one of The Ebonriver Trilogy is still on pace to be released some time in December of 2025.

Awesome! And when do your RPG material come out?

We’ve been thinking a lot about that very thing, and I’m pretty certain the first release will not occur until after the second novel of The Ebonriver Trilogy is released (stay tuned for that announcement, btw…).

Why the delay? Why, to prevent spoilers, of course…

Is there anything else?

Most definitely. You should subscribe for email updates…and definitely ask questions that we haven’t thought of so we can add them here.
